In the traditional “IT” world businesses would need support only at select times. Typically when they were getting started, expanding, upgrading, or when something broke or failed. The larger the company the more return on investment it gets by having their IT needs handled internally by a scalable IT department.
Small businesses typically do not have the resources to employ a Full Time Technician, let alone a Manager, Director or Executive responsible for IT. They simply pay, up front, when the services are needed, often at a high premium due to that fact that systems typically fail when they are needed the most.
Larger businesses have the advantage of full onsite staff to manage and deal with their technical needs, wants and desires. Larger businesses have the advantage of scalable teams that can proactively monitor technology, they can recommend technical solutions for issues and growth on the horizon, and they can address issues as they appear in the business.
This is where the concept of managed services comes in. It allows small and medium size businesses a method of having their IT managed without the continued expense of staffing.
At the Technician level of service, we are helping you with the traditional support, you call us and we come and fix it.
In the Manager, Director and Executive levels of support, we increasingly take responsibility for your systems and proactively monitor them for issues. Depending on the service level, your company is provided complimentary support monthly, so you can forecast reasonable technical support costs into your business model. Each progressive model increases our level of support and what we can provide your company. You can also add on to our Manager and Director plans to get some of the added benefits of the Director plan, while keeping your monthly plan costs lower.
Some businesses and owners wish to only be alerted when potential problems occur and will deal with it on their own. Having a Manager plan will let you know when there are problems with your backups, your anti-virus, or any potential component failure with your computer. As an owner you simply have us rectify the situation, or you complete it on your own.
The Director level plan is a mix between Manager and Executive. We handle most of the more common tasks but as a business you are still dealing with major issues like virus removal, hardware installation and other tasks. You get more complimentary remote support in this plan.
At the Executive level, things are taken care of for you, period. Installation of software or hardware is complimentary, you receive 1 hour of onsite support monthly for free. At the Executive level, you simply let us handle things so you can focus on running your business. You are provided 1 hour of onsite work per month, plus 30 minutes per device of remote support under this plan. This will allow you to handle most of your day to day IT needs for a relatively fixed cost. Your 1 hour per month can also be used for consulting and planning purposes if you need formal strategic planning.
Every plan also has a reduced rate for extra support. That support can come in the form of onsite or remote support. Any time not covered by your monthly plan is billed at the lower rate included in the plan.
Remember that we also bill on actual time worked. We don’t count or bill for travel time in our billing. That means you aren’t paying to have someone drive to your place and back to their office. During regular business hours we also don’t charge a minimum block of time for our onsite rates. For those on a plan, emergency and after hours rates are discounted as an added benefit of being on a service plan. If you are on the Executive plan, there is NO additional premium for afterhours and weekend support.
